Worthy Farm is on a fallow year, which means no Glastonbury in 2026. The land, the cows, and the team all get a year to recover.
Summer itself is very much on, though! There’s still a brilliant lineup of festivals ahead, and nobody’s missing out. If anything, I much rather prefer the smaller intimate festivals where you’re likely to leave with new friends that feel like family because of the much greater chance you’ll bump into them again too!
This post is about which tabi socks pair best with which kind of festival. For example, Wilderness, All Points East, and Lost Village get the full treatment. There’s a quick nod to Boomtown for the costume-minded. And a few thoughts that apply wherever your wristband takes you this summer.
But first — the case for the sock itself. You wear them every day. But how often do you actually stop to think about the pair you’re putting on? For most of us, rarely. They’re an afterthought. At a festival, that’s a small thing worth changing.

Style at Lost Village leans costume, vintage, folkloric, mythological. Anything a little bit otherworldly. The forest setting helps. The 3am sets in hidden clearings do too.

A few packing tips for tabis at any festival
Small things I’ve learned along the way.
· Pack one pair per day, plus an extra. Tabis are light and small. A spare barely takes up any room — and you’ll be glad of it when one inevitably goes rogue in the tent.
· Mix cotton and synthetic blends. Cotton breathes and feels lovely. Cotton-poly-nylon blends dry faster, which matters if it rains.
· Mix darker prints with lighter classics. The darker pairs handle the muddier moments with ease. The lighter classics (whites very much included!) come into their own on the bright, polished afternoons.
· Remember: socks are washable. Mud isn’t permanent. Wear what you want to wear, and worry about the laundry next week.
· Put a clean pair in your bag for the journey home. The version of you on the train back will be quietly grateful.
A few questions I get asked about tabis at festivals
Will they fit inside my wellies?
Yes, easily. A crew or knee-length style stays put inside the boot.
Can I wear them with Crocs?
Tabis with Crocs is one of the most underrated comfort combinations out there! The look isn’t for everyone. But the feeling is.
Will they help with festival blisters?
In most cases, yes. Less friction between the toes. A cleaner, drier environment around the foot. Both add up to fewer blisters by day three.
Cotton or wool?
Cotton blends for the daytime — breathable and quick to dry. Wool blends for the late-night sets when the temperature drops. If you’re camping, take both.
Do I need to size up or down?
Stick to your normal size. Tabi socks are designed to sit snugly so they don’t bunch inside footwear. A too-loose sock is the fastest route to a blister you didn’t need.
