    What makes Tabi socks better than normal socks?

    Toe freedom - the split-toe design by separating the big toe lets your foot move more naturally, and many wearers find it improves grip and balance because of this.
    They work with open footwear - such as sandals, flip-flops and tabi shoes, where normal socks cannot quite comfortably fit in so easily.
    Breathability - keeping the big toe apart helps reduce rubbing and keeps feet feeling fresh, this can greatly improve foot hygiene. Also keeps your feet cool during hotter weather.
    Do I need tabi shoes if I have tabi socks?

    Certainly not, in fact, the design of tabi was originally as a sock for functionality and practicality. Tabi as shoes didn't come until much later. Tabi socks fit just the same inside closed shoes as normal socks — trainers, boots, loafers, and flats. The split sits invisibly. We believe that it truly feels better to wear tabi socks with your normal shoes because you have added comfort with your toes sitting more naturally in your shoe, with your toe being able to move more freely.
    Where do Tabi socks come from?

    Many centuries ago in Japan. "Tabi" (足袋) is the traditional Japanese split-toe sock, worn for centuries with sandals like zōri and geta, and by workers in jika-tabi boots.     Who are Tabi socks for?

    Tabi socks are for absolutely everyone, and we have them in a range of sizes and styles from plain everyday basics to bold graphic prints.
    What is the difference between Tabi socks and Toe socks?

    Toe socks also often known as 'five-finger socks' have a separate pocket for each individual toe.

    Tabi socks split only the big toe from the other four. Tabi is the traditional Japanese design, originally made for thonged footwear — and many people find them comfier and easier to wear than full toe socks.
